Regata da Volta do Avião 2025 em Maria Farinha/PE foi sucesso

O Rio Timbó, um dos cenários naturais mais belos e emblemáticos do litoral norte de Pernambuco, foi o grande protagonista da Regata Volta do Avião, que encerrou em grande estilo a Temporada 2025 dos veleiros monotipo do Cabanga Iate Clube de Pernambuco, no domingo, 20 de dezembro.
Foi da subsede do Cabanga, em Maria Farinha, às margens do Rio Timbó, que aconteceu a largada e também a chegada da competição. Em maré enchente e sob ventos constantes de 14 nós, as embarcações deixaram o rio em direção ao mar aberto, proporcionando um início técnico e belíssimo para a regata.
Logo após a largada, os Hobie Cat 16 e Hobie Cat 14 mostraram sua vocação para a velocidade. Com arrancadas fortes, abriram vantagem sobre as demais classes e passaram a desfilar à frente da Coroa do Avião, um dos cartões-postais mais impressionantes do litoral norte pernambucano, arrancando aplausos do público que lotou a área.
Na sequência, os veleiros passaram em frente ao histórico Forte Orange, palco das batalhas entre holandeses e portugueses no período da colonização do Brasil, unindo esporte, natureza e história em um mesmo enquadramento de rara beleza.
Com a direção do vento predominante de leste, a flotilha seguiu em uma exigente perna de contravento até a boia montada em frente ao curral da Coroa do Avião. Dali, os barcos entraram em traves bem ajustado até a boia da baliza do Canal de Maria Farinha, descendo depois em pipa rumo à entrada do Rio Timbó. Exigindo leitura precisa de vento, corrente e maré, os competidores demonstraram grande habilidade para, então, cruzar a linha de chegada dentro do rio.
A disputa foi intensa, especialmente pelos três primeiros lugares, transformando a regata em um verdadeiro espetáculo para o público que acompanhou tudo tanto da Coroa do Avião quanto da praia de Mangue Seco.
A competição reuniu velejadores de diversas categorias, confirmando o caráter democrático e técnico do evento. Participaram as classes Optimist, ILCA, Dingue, Day Sailer, Hobie Cat 14 e Hobie Cat 16, reforçando a força e a diversidade da vela pernambucana.
Ao final da regata, o clima foi de confraternização. A cerimônia de premiação aconteceu ao pôr do sol, com um belo sunset, acompanhado de pizza, chope e banda, celebrando não apenas os vencedores, mas toda a comunidade da vela.
